Based Science is an independent publication run by several scientists. We’re interested in assumptions embedded and hidden from view, i.e., assumptions that reside where code interacts with data. A true understanding of methods lies at the code level; if you cannot write the code, you do not fully appreciate the method.
By covering science-related controversies we hope to promote DiY for amateur scientists. By running their own analyses, people can understand the limitations and instability of the data and estimated model.
